I just played an awesome game with wave 9. Atlaga is amazing. He destroyed all of the MRT Migol AGoBF Spartacus. Protectors need more defense. The Dwarves are okay but will do better against large and huge figures. Or ascreen of rats holding down range figures. Migol is very powerful but falls to strong range. The Dividers are good if you have good rolls and have TUL-BAK-RA. Alone they are average. What do you think. |

Have not played them yet, but my opinion is the Protectors should never have been released. Ranged combat is extremely more advantageous than melee. One item I always counted on was that there are no flying ranged units (besides the Dragons, who at least are expensive and unique hero). So unless you are playing on a single level map with plenty of space, the protectors will have an advantage over every figure in the game. One could counter that they only have a range of 5. But remember - They can FLY 4 spaces (imagine +move glyph!). So they have a total striking range of 9 (who cares about height now, right?). So what, the 4rth Mass moved into Range. The 4rth lost their wait then fire, and theoretically the Protectors would be on high ground so they should survive the initial attack. Then the protectors swoop in and finish of the attacking unit... Currently a huge majority of the maps keep an even playing field between ranged and melee based on the fact that ranged does not fly, only melee can take high ground immediately (flying units already exist). Currently I am expecting to see a number of Protectors at the upcoming tourney. Fortunately the 600 point army is the total for a team and no more than 100 point differentiation between armies (and the armies can not field the same units). However in standard 1 vs 1 450+ armies, I expect that Protectors will be as dominant in usage as Stingers were previously. Possibly the Revelutionary's will still be top pick because their are 4 of them and they are cheaper. However their bonus is on waiting then firing. Whereas the Protectors will get automatic bonus's for height, and possibly extreme height, in the beginning stages of the game. What are peoples thoughts on the repulsor? Are these a possible optional replacement for units like the DeathReavers? I was thinking of using them in the upcoming tourney - I hate to field DeathReavers: Its so overused :p I'm excited to see the Indians take the board, but currently am not expecting a lot of 'wow' from them. You bet Ill play them for fun, but Ill keep my agents for the real work. Heh, I hate acronyms! I had to look up what the heck RC-D2 was talking about :p Not had a chance to play the dwarves yet, but I am wondering if they would be good options for people building Knight based armies... |

Probably has to do with lead based paint or something. |

The dividers possibly could replace rats but I doubt that because rats still have 1 more move scatter and an extra defense die. |
