I would like to go 8 maps this time....

My suggestions are:

Flash Fire
Fire Isles
Turret Rocks
Converging Paths over the Mire

I assume you mean June 23 as the tournament is scheduled July 11?

Since the point size is on the lower end this time I think we should consider some of the maps in the gencon map contest. They are all smaller and should work well the smaller armies. Also due to the size restriction it will make the maps easier to transport and maybe my family can make it to Pulp with all of the maps built right and intact :D

In which case if you guys would take the time to go through that thread and pick out some maps you would like to use.

I would like to get the maps selected early enough to please the practice ho's, but have enough maps they can't realistically practice them all. In fact, I'm OK with using all Gencon maps....

I don't know, those Gencon maps are pretty small. bobofdeath entered two into Rychean's contest and we have played several games on them. With the lower point value it might work out OK though.

How do you all feel about a team tourney, 2v2?

I'd love it personally, have to work out several details. We pick our partners are paired with people? There are a few people that I would absolutely not be willing to partner with, though I don't think anybody who posts on here.

You would pick your partner and register as a team. You don't have to worry about being paired with D though, he's already taken.

I think I'd pay money to see that team happen [smilie=a_crylaugh.gif]

Team tourney sounds fine. I say we go with GenCon maps - hopefully they'll have the polls up soon, and we can go from there.

How will we split up the armies? Each player gets 12 start zone spaces and 230 points? Or do we collaborate on a 460 point army and each control a few army cards? My vote is for the former, though the latter would allow more flexibility.

Actually, what I was thinking was 460 each player. And finding/designing 1 or 2 two player maps with 48 start zones, and 1 1/2 rounds. If we limit to 16 teams, four rounds should be enough.

I think a team tourney would be great, but 460 points each is an awful lot. I would much rather do 460 points combined with maybe up to 30 points shared or something. The Dallas folks do this well.
For example Each teammate would normally get 230 points, but with 30 shared points one teammate could have 200 points while the other had 260 points. Or anywhere in between (210 and 150, 205 and 255, etc)

Of course it's your guys' tourney, but 460 points each team will take a very, very long time. Imagine how many rats you could fit in 48 hexes! YUCK!!

You guys always run great tourneys and if you have a team one, you can count on team Matthias and fomox on coming and winning!!!!!!!!!
