Here is the web page for Tom Vassals pod cast the dice tower. It covers all things card/board games. Some of you may already know about it, but I a relative newb to boardgaming and I just discovered it.

I like his reviews because he seems to like the same kind of stuff I do. I enjoy checking out his top 100. I always find a new "must have" game http://www.thedicetower.com/thedicetowe ... ge=top_100

Just read over the top 20. He's got Heroscape as his #4 game (out of 200)!

Obviously the man has good taste :)

Yep his top 10 is awesome... I'd like to try all of them... especially cosmic encounters, battleground: fantasy warfare, dungeon twister, duel of ages... heck all of them! LOL As a side note, I believe screaming truth interviewed Vassal in one of the past Heroscape podcasts...

I have Duel of Ages and Dungeon Twister. Guess I'll bring them just in case. I also have Twilight Imperium but you need to set aside 5+ hours to play that bad boy.

oh, and I have Ticket To Ride but it's such a laid back game I never bring it.

I want to see Dungeon Twister before I maybe buy it, so please bring it along. Same with DoA. I love TtR, personally, because it ain't Monopoly and I can get a family member to play it.

Will do.

That's exactly why I bought it- the only non traditional game I thought I could my parents to play. I'd sooner jump in a pool of razor blades than play the Game of Life again (once was enough for me).

For you Citadels guys, here you can practice it against a computer
http://citadellesjavagame.free.fr/

Although Citadels vs. the computer is just plain wrong for many reasons. San Juan is more playable without human interaction

Excellent. The heroscapers.com site has a Free Games thread - you ought to post those.

Without the link, I thought you were talking about the Battleground game at Target/WalMart where the orcs and humans shoot chips at each other... :?

Well it still has orcs and humans at any rate... but I guess most things do these days.

It just so happens that when you posted this I was watching an ebay auction for 3 starter decks that was ending tonight. You've inspired me to take the plunge. I've now got Humans, Orcs, and Undead coming my way! Because apparently being addicted to one miniature game just isn't enough!

Awesome! Maybe we can play a game next Sunday. FYI, the rules are on their web page in a nice PDF. Much easier to read than the little insert that comes int he starters. Also you need a dry erase marker.

Just thought I would mention that the game BANG! has a special edition out right now. Bang the Bullet Ed. has all of the expansions (including the out of print ones) and a few blank cards to make up your own. Neat display I might add.

....This game used to be our regular "inbetween the long games" game when my gaming group first got started long ago.

Actually, I will have Emillio with me so I don't want to leave him out if we play a 2 player game... wonder if there are rules for a 3-player? Or we could get a couple more people and play magblast or Bang! or mission red planet! So many freaking games I wanna try...

I'm pretty sure I saw 3+ player rules somewhere that had 2 people on the same team. Some of the rules of the game are kind of strange and will take some get a handle on. There will be plenty of other options. If there are only 3 of us Duel Of Ages would be a good choice.

I'm thinking about coming into the store for a boardgaming fix this Sunday since I didn't get enough last week. Almighty Game Pope- will there be gaming going on the Eve of Christmas Eve?
