Topeka will not be a force to be reckoned with this Saturday. No one in my group is planning to attend. I blame myself for not scheduling some Heroscape game days and keeping people excited about it.

Unfortunately, it's looking like I won't be able to come, either. I feel pretty bad about it, too, especially seeing as how others are driving from so far away.

I'll let you know if my situation changes.

Ah that explains it...hasn't the site been down since then?

Anyway, it's a good thing I put the tourney on my outlook calendar way back then or I would have been showing up a day late.

That sucks EJ... you will be missed. Should I take Zack off of the guest list?

Belton will come in force to fill the gap. Could not convince my brother to come though and my friend is out of town. I am hitching a ride with BobofDeath, his dad, and his two brothers. See everyone in 3 hours. :)

Congratulations to Karl, our First place winner! Awesome job!!!! It was nice to see a KC native take home the big prize...and not one of those trash talk'in Nebraska girls  The "competition" was fun though... I think we were all playing vicariously through Karl in the championship, living out our dreams of conqering Nebraska in the final climatic battle... LoL

Congratulations are also in order for Kyle who took home the 3rd place trophy... way to go guys! I think we pretty much tied them in the top 10 rankings... But I hereby claim overall victory since Karl won 1st... thats is the tie breaker.

Thanks goes out to all of you that helped pull this wonderful event together and make it what it was. It ran smoothly & efficiently and I think it's safe to say everyone had a blast! Thanks again to all of you... You guys Rock.

Now I have two questions...
1. Does anyone have a list of the rankings and armies that they can post? and 2........................

When is our next KC Tournament!?!?!?

Spring RecruitsCon maybe?

Hopefully not for a long time, I can't take another two weeks straight of obsessing over armies...only to go with one of my first ideas.

Trophies are ordered! (hope no one else already did this, but I haven't heard anything.....)

For those who didn't know -

When I went to pick up the trophies Saturday, I got quite a surprise. Drew had called to order order trophies as well - when MVP Trophies told him about my order, he added the "Best Sportsman" trophy AND paid in advance for the order! All I wound up having to do was pick them up. Very cool. Drew is the man :thumbsup

Congrats Karl! You've been knocking at the door in just about every other tourney - good to see you (and your Minions) come out on top this time!

Ahhh C'mon... obsessing is what gives you an edge! Besides, it's not like you will make an army without minions anyway! I say we plan on Fall Recruits, September 12-14, 2008 for our next tourney :D

http://recruits.mtswebsites.com/

I think the tree town open is in OCT and Nebraska skirmish II is in NOV... that would be one tourney per month for three months... Good times! Of course not everyone will play in the out of town tourneys...but I plan on making some road trips :thumbsup

Well, its Monday afternoon and I think I am finally dealing with the fact that two rolls of a d20 dice made me lose my first tourney match against Emillio.   His Isamu then proceeded to finish off Krug with 2 hits and my last 4th Mass. At the time it wasn't that big a deal, but since I won my next 4 matches. Who knows what may have happened had one of those rolls been lower. . . . . . . :(

Can the Heroscape tourney be on Sat. instead of Sunday at 10:00 AM like the spring recruits. Me and my family can't come on Sunday morning.

Hey I used Knights at least once... I think that was in Topeka. So maybe I just won't make an army without minions in the state of Missouri.... I just haven't taken the time to apply for an out of state permit.

I wouldn't have a problem with Saturday. I think they had the last on on Sunday becasue of the space required for Heroscape. Saturday is really busy and I'm not sure they'd have room for us.

And about those d20 rolls... take it from a guy who knows... you can control everything but the dice on a heroscape battlefield. So if you look back and in your mind you did everything else right... then losing due to dice rolls isn't so bad... at least thats how I like to rationalize it... LOL

In the second one from the bottom you can't see any of my army (except Kiova) because they are all hiding behind the glaciers.

Replace "glaciers" with "ruins" and I would have thought you were talking about our matchup :)

Just what I need. Pictures to remind my wife how much time and money I spend on Heroscape.

Except there were not enough ruins to hide me in that one :)
